2. click options
3. click mail setup tab
4. click email accounts
5. click change on your email account
6. click more settings(bottom right)
7. click the advanced tab
8. under delivery CHECK the box that says (Leave a copy of messages on the Server)
9. click OK
Now when you use the pop3 account it should retain them in your iPad.

How to reset or renew your IP Address in Windows 7

How to reset your IP address in Windows 7
You can usually renew or reset your IP address (Internet Protocol Address) by just switching off your router/modem waiting for 30 seconds and switching on again. This normally aquires a correct address again
Only if you are still getting error messages and using Windows OS try this.

1.First click on Start then in the box "search programs and files" type Run.
This should bring up Run at the top click that to get the Run dialogue box.
Now type command press the OK button to get a black box (This is a DOS command box).
2.To determine what your IP address and default gateware are we need to run ipconfig.exe. After the line C:\USERS\YOURNAME> place the mouse and if necessary right click to get a flashing cursor then Type ipconfig.exe or just ipconfig and then press enter. The Default Gateway address and the IP Address will be displayed. Regardless of whether there are addresses listed here, continue with the next two steps.

3.You will need to release your current IP address and gateway in order to get a new one. If this turns out not to be the problem with your computer, this proceedure will not hurt anything by attempting it. Release your current IP by going to the bottom of the list and after C:\USERS\YOURNAME> again place the mouse to get a flashing prompt and then type in the following ipconfig /release and then press enter.(that is ipconfig, a space, a forward slash and release) This will release any assigned IP addresses and gateways from your computer.
4.Next you need to type in ipconfig /renew to get a new IP address or default gateway. On the screen your should see your new Default Gateway and IP Address. If you are using a router or your IP has not changed on your modem then the addresses may not have changed.
5.Type exit to leave the command prompt and get to Windows.

These changes should take effect immediately

How to Run a Program when Windows 7 Starts

Run a program automatically when Windows starts

If you always open the same programs after starting your computer, such as a web browser or e‑mail program, you might find it convenient to have them start automatically when you start Windows. Programs or shortcuts placed in the Startup folder will run whenever Windows starts.

1.Click the Start button , click All Programs, right-click the Startup folder, and then click Open.
2.Open the location that contains the item to which you want to create a shortcut.

3.Right-click the item, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.

4.Drag the shortcut into the Startup folder.

The next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.

Note
You can also make an individual file, such as a word-processing document, open automatically by dragging a shortcut of the file into the Startup folder.

Windows XP remove File Indexing Service.

On older computers this noticeably slows things down.
As it only speeds up searches it is not necessary.

IN XP Right Click on My Computer, right click on Drive C.
Right Click on properties
Ensure the tick is removed from "Allow Indexing Service to Index this disk for fast file searching.
The problem with this is that on a reboot it may default bak to having a tick in the box. If so try this.

To disable the indexing service:

1.In the "Start" menu, choose "Run."
2.Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
3.Scroll-down to "Indexing Service" and double-click it.
4.If the service status is "Running", then stop it by pressing the "Stop" button.
5.To make sure this service doesn't run again, under "Startup Type:", choose "Disabled."

or

To disable it, go to the Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. Click the Add/Remove Window Components. Simply unclick the Indexing services and click next!

Windows 7 Removing Blank Startup Items in MsConfig

Removing Blank Startup Items from MSConfig
1. First, enable the item if it’s already disabled, and then click Apply. This moves back the entry to the "Run" registry key, which you can edit manually.

2. Note down where the blank entry is located in the registry, by expanding and viewing the Location column. (Hint: HKLM represents HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry branch, and HKCU means HKEY_CURRENT_USER)

3. Click Start, Run. Type Regedit.exe and press ENTER.

4. Navigate to the registry branch that you noted in Step 2.

5. Right-click on the value which has blank data, and choose Delete.

Additional Note: If the (Default) or unnamed value has blank data, you’ll have to delete that as well. Right-click on the (Default) and choose Delete. It should now read as (value not set

Microsoft Money Program Still running

Error message in Microsoft Money after closing down
This operation cannot be performed
You then try to open Money and it says
Program still running
It isnt running as Task Manager will show under processes. (Ctrl/SHIFT/ESC )

In my case the mny file was corrupted by closing down and then opening too quickly at the same time it was still backing up to a NAS drive.
The fix procedure to repair the corrupted Money data file. You need to reboot to open Money again.

Step 1: Repair file in Microsoft Money 2004 and later versions that you can access
Open the Money data file that you want to repair.
On the File menu, point to Repair Money File, and then click Quick File Repair.
Money performs the repair on the file.
If you have a Windows Live ID password or another password that is associated with the data file, you will be prompted for it now.
Test to see whether you experience the same symptoms,

Option 2 is Standard File Repair on the same menu but this time rename the money file in the same location.

Select Next Variable Hot Key Fix

In Dragon Naturally Speaking you may get an error message relating to next variable hotkey is in use by another application and asking you to go to Tools Options Hotkeys and change it.
This is not possible you need to add a line to the options.ini file for each user you have set up.
Here is the procedure
Dragon NaturallySpeaking is attempting to register a hot key, but a separate application has already registered that same hot key.

Solution:

The Clear Variable Delimiters hot key is not configurable from the "Hot Keys" tab in the "Tools > Options" dialog. We recommend manually disabling the hot key(s) in the "options.ini" file. Each user profile will have a unique "options.ini" associated to that user.

To disable the "Select Next Variable Hot Key":

Exit from all open applications, including Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.1.
Using Windows Explorer, browse to:
On Windows Vista: "C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Users\[USER]\current"
On Windows XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Users\[USER]\current"
Right-click on the "options.ini" file and select "Open With", then select Notepad as the program to open the file.
Under the "[Options]" heading, enter "Select Next Variable Hot Key=0,0".
For example, the "options.ini" file should now display:
[Options]
Select Next Variable Hot Key=0,0

Click "File > Save" and then close the "options.ini" file.
Launch Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.1.
Note: Other potential hot keys that can cause conflicts may include:

Select Next Variable Hot Key
Select Previous Variable Hot Key
Transfer Text Hot Key
If the error message being displayed is referencing one of these hot keys, follow the steps above to modify the "options.ini" file, but replace the text in Step 4 with corresponding hot key. For example:

[Options]
Select Next Variable Hot Key =0,0

How to Disable the CAPS LOCK

Understanding How Windows Key Re-Mapping Works
Windows doesn’t have a default setting to allow for disabling the key, so what we have to do is re-map the key to something non-existent so as to completely disable it. To do this manually, you’d open up regedit.exe and browse down to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

Here’s the format of the binary data in the Scancode Map key, with the important parts in bold and various colors:

00000000 00000000 02000000 00003A00 00000000

Here’s how it works:

•The first 16 zeros are just there to waste space.
•The “02″ in bold represents how many keys you are going to re-map plus 1. (It really represents the length of the data, but whatever)
•The orange bolded “0000″ is the key we actually want Windows to map TO, which in this case is nothing, or 0.
•The blue bolded “3A00″ is the key we are mapping from, in this case the caps lock key.
•The next 8 zeros are there to waste space as the null terminator.
You can map between multiple keys by incrementing the “02″ and then adding another of the colorful bold blocks in the middle. The 3A00 in the mix is the scan code. For example, if you wanted to disable the caps lock key and then change scroll lock into a caps lock key:

00000000 00000000 03000000 00003A00 3A004600 00000000

It might seem complicated, but it’s really fairly simple once you start working with it.

Downloadable Registry Hack to Disable or Remap the Caps Lock Key
Now that you’ve learned how these things work internally, you can download and extract the zipfile which contains the following files:

ChangeCapsToControl.reg Changes Caps Lock to be a Control key
ChangeCapsToShift.reg Changes Caps Lock to be a Shift key
SwitchCapsToScrollLock.reg Disables Caps Lock and swaps Scroll lock to be Caps Lock
KillCapsLock.reg Disables Caps Lock
DisableKeyboardRemap Uninstalls the preference by deleting the key

Once you’ve applied one of these registry files, you’ll have to reboot your computer for it to work. To uninstall, you can use the uninstall registry tweak, or you can simply delete the Scancode Map key entirely.
